The Haryana Urban Development Authority is set to introduce an online process from the next month to seek approval for the revised building plan.
All the fresh or revised building plans are sanctioned by the estate officer. However, since the process is manual, it is marred by delays. It takes a minimum of 21 days after which the approval is granted.
In the present system, one has to submit various documents along with an application form, including the possession certificates and original and revised building plan, and make several visits to the HUDA office in order to seek approval.
“The process is long and cumbersome. So, it was proposed that the process be made online on the pattern of fresh building plan. The online process will not take more than seven working days,” said sub-divisional officer Vimaldeep.
Under the new process, residents can apply on the website of HUDA through architects, where they will be required to submit the fresh and revised building plans in a prescribed format, along with the other necessary documents. A login and UserID would be given to the empanelled architects.
The drawings will be uploaded in the auto development control rules software installed on HUDA servers and will be scrutinised accordingly.
“The step will be quite beneficial, as people now have to wait for 21 days for getting the plan approved. The modalities are being worked out and we hope to launch it by the next month,” he added.
HUDA had already introduced the online process for seeking approval of fresh building plans in 2014, which brought down the number of such pending cases. In the first phase, the online process will include residential units, and commercial units will be included in the second phase.
“It will be quite helpful for residents. However, there are not many applications for revised building plan in residential units. In case of commercial units, the number of cases is high,” said S K Nayyar, president, Citizen Welfare Association.
